Our Staff

Sandra Messinger
Owner / President
Sandra created The Pallet Alliance Inc. with her husband Paul Messinger in the summer of 1995. Following Paul’s vision, they set out to develop custom solutions for large, multi-site companies in The United States, Canada, and Mexico. With her background in bookkeeping and management, Sandra designed The Pallet Alliance, Inc.’s systems, accounting functions, and job positions. In 2000, she took over the daily operation of The Pallet Alliance, Inc. as President. Continuing in that capacity, Sandra hopes to expand The Pallet Alliance, Inc. through her aggressive 10-year business plan, and growing sales effort. Sandra now draws on 38 years of management experience to foster steadfast dedication from her staff and loyalty from her national vendors and customers.

Paul Messinger
Owner / Vice President
Paul is a veteran of over twenty-five years in the pallet industry where, beginning in 1984, he started as a pallet salesman in the Mid-Atlantic region. Although a successful salesman, Paul began to realize that merely selling pallets was not solving his customer’s problems, and led to no real customer or vendor commitment or loyalty. That insight began a process that led to the development of the first (successful) National Pallet Program in 1989; Mobil Oil, and two years later with Millennium Inorganic Chemicals. He and his wife, Sandra, created The Pallet Alliance, Inc. in 1995 to concentrate on the further development of the Supply-Chain Solution approach that has since yielded notable successes with companies such as The Sherwin-Williams Paint Company and The United States Gypsum Company, among others.

Tyson Steffens
Business Development Manager
Tyson joined The Pallet Alliance in January of 2003. Tyson completed an internship with General Electric while completing his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at The University of Akron. Upon graduating, he accepted a job with The United States Gypsum Company and relocated to Shoals, Indiana, where he held jobs related to the manufacturing of drywall as well as managing departments responsible for Quality Control and Transportation. A promotion then took him to Torrance, California as the Operations Manager of a joint treatment manufacturing facility. This position gave Tyson diverse responsibilities which included Procurement of Materials, Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Shipping. It also provided him with a great advantage in understanding the working environments and business constraints of our customers, who are, by and large, manufacturers. Since joining The Pallet Alliance, Inc., Tyson has earned his MBA from The Keenan-Flagler Business School of The University of North Carolina.

Michael Jones
International Commerce & Logistics Manager
A 2003 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mike Jones began his work at The Pallet Alliance as head of the IT Department in late 2005. He was brought in specifically to further develop the company information-systems infrastructure, as well as to re-imagine the information-services a pallet/logistics company is capable of offering. As International Commerce & Logistics Manager, he has continued his work in developing and managing information systems, but has broadened the scope of systems integration and implementation to include all phases of company-wide processes. He continues to help The Pallet Alliance extend the base of its information technology offerings to its customers and improve its superior overall all value position in the industry.

Over Braden’s academic term, he spent three years working for The Virginia Tech Center for Unit Load Design under Dr. Marshall White. There, he developed as well as fine tuned his understanding of pallet and packaging design and performance throughout the materials handling spectra. Braden’s schooling gave him opportunities to participate in field trials developed to add handling efficiencies to major DC’s in North Carolina. He was also actively involved in the mechanical testing of various pallet and packaging systems for major corporations. Between degrees, Braden was able to travel to New Zealand and work with the country’s premier pallet manufacturer as well as the raw material supplier. Currently Braden is actively applying his qualifications to The Pallet Alliance.
